Video of an Old Man Riding a Scooter Almost Crash Cyclists in Women's Tour of Britain

An old man riding a mobility scooter almost caused a major accident at the 3rd  stage of the Women's Tour of Britain in Essex held last May 9.

The old man out of nowhere crossed the road, milliseconds before the riders passed. Marianne Vos and Laura Trott are among the high profile competitors in the race.

That was really dangerous for the old man and the athletes.

Netherlands Cycling Paradise

Yup, Netherlands is a cycling paradise. They've got great infrastructure for cyclist that we can just dream of.
Houten is one of the best place for cyclists, and despite their advancement they still continue to improve it. They really study on how to make the street safer for everyone. In the Netherlands, they don't worry about cars families pedal along the road worry free. Most of the major street here have separate bike lanes, traffic lights for cyclists, and bike highways.

Segregated bike lanes have right of way when crossing side roads. You can see markings that instruct cars to give way to the cyclist coming in and out of the side road. They also have small protective kerbs and markers.

Netherlands is a dream come true for cyclists.

Oakley's Conquer the Road

Oakley and Eurosport teamed up in launching a search for two cyclists who will be asked to "Conquer the Road" to celebrate the 100th edition of the Tour de France in 2013.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for cycling fans to ride one of the iconic Tour de France stages with a professional rider.

The winners will have their experience filmed and broadcast by Eurosport as part of a four-part mini-series called “The Ride” which will be shown during the channel’s 2013 coverage of the legendary race.

To win the competition you will need to earn kilometres. The Top 20 competitors by kilometres on April 30th will go through to the final round where expert judging panel of cyclists will select the two lucky winners.

All travel, accommodation and expenses will be provided by Oakley.
