Portsmouth UK - Portsmouth lies on the south coast of England, and it's the second largest city of Hampshire. Portsmouth is the only island city of the United Kingdom. This year they will hold another World Naked Bike Ride to create more awareness of bike safety and the environment.
This year the 2014 Naked Bike Ride Portsmouth will be held on Saturday May 24, 2014 at the green that is directly opposite the Coffee Cup in Eastney at 2pm.
They held the same even last year with 90 participants, they took the route around the south of the city.
The event was organized by Ian Hendon for the past 3 years.
Stated on their website, the purpose of the event is:
- To draw attention to the profligate use of fossil fuels by Society;
- To draw attention to the vulnerability of cyclists on our rouds;
- To celebrate the simple innocence of the human body
