Afghanistan is country where women are treated with lesser importance and where wear burqas and are not allowed to drive or leave the house without a male relative. Now, they have a female Cycling team. This is a major leap for women in Afghanistan. The Taliban will surely get incensed. The female cyclists in Afghanistan like Marjan Sadeqi and Nazifa are doing extraordinary things by doing what they love which is cycling.

Abdul Sadiq is the coach of four (4) young members of the Afghan National Cycling Federation. The girls wear long-sleeve jerseys with full-length tights. While cycling they draw a lot of attention and people stare at them. Afghanistan is a deeply conservative country.

They used to train old bikes with rusty framed clunkers with kickstands but now they are using carbon-fiber racing bikes courtesy of a nonprofit organization "Mountain 2 Mountain", which has been supplying the Afghan women's cycling team with high-tech gear for the past two years.

This is a really inspiring story I hope they succeed!
